Trusting Christ with your daily life brings peace and stability amidst the chaos of everyday challenges. When life becomes uncertain and we see things in society that cause us to become afraid , entrusting your worries and decisions to the Prince of Peace gives us a special anchor in the middle of stormy situations. The apostle Paul encourages us to hold fast to the anchor of our faith, trusting Christ to navigate our life through the storms around us. This is powerful wording. Paul was talking to men of the sea, men who knew how treacherous the ocean and the weather could be. His comparison of the fury of the waves to the uncertainty of life gives us a mental picture of the power of putting our faith in Christ. When we rely on Christ and his wisdom and guidance, we are able to weather every storm around us, maintain our mental health, and peace of mind.
Living each day with trust in Christ requires a conscious effort to let go of the need for control and surrender to His timing. As humans, it’s in our nature to want to control things so that we know that our needs will be met. But this kind of control is an illusion and will cause us great mental anguish when we see the waves of adversity rise around us. Trusting Christ means that we acknowledge our desire to control life, and humbly admit that we are unable to affect the changes we want, without the guidance and assistance of Christ in our life. Trusting Christ requires us to embrace a paradigm shift in thinking. It means that we start believing that Christ’s will for every situation is inherently good and that he will make all things work to our good according to his purpose for our life. To say this is a courageous and bold change of thinking is an understatement. It is actually impossible, without admitting to Christ that in our human limitations, we are unable to trust him in the way we need to. As Paul said, it means leaning our entire personality on Christ in trust and faith.
But there is hope! When we willingly admit to Christ that we are unable to achieve the high standards of trust he has set up, he overcomes our human limitations and gives us the strength and ability to trust him! Christ will give you his strength, his wisdom, and his ability to trust him in all situations. This is an amazing process and journey that Christ takes us on. Instead of judging us for our frailties and human nature, Christ actually overcomes and bypasses our shortcomings, as we put our hope in him and learn to trust him.
This process is not passive, though. Instead, it requires active participation on our part. Every day, we must make a conscious decision to believe that Christ is with us, walking with us through every situation we face. As we embrace this mindset of never being alone, we gain assurance of Christ’s faithfulness through the prayers we pray and the guidance he gives. This perspective encourages us to pursue our goals and aspirations with confidence and joy, while maintaining faith that outcomes are under Christ’s divine guidance. We also begin to live a life of gratitude, knowing that while our efforts are required, Christ is the ultimate reason for the things we have and achieve. Not only are we never alone, but we learn that with Christ, we can overcome the limitations that once seemed insurmountable!
Ultimately, trusting Christ with your daily life transforms how you navigate the world, instilling a sense of purpose and fulfillment rooted in faith. Go forward with confident boldness in the power that trusting Christ brings to your life. For we know that no situation, not even unfulfilled dreams we had long ago, can overcome the power of Christ in our life.
