Imagine you have taken a beautiful picture or created the best piece of art for an article you wrote. You spent hours editing your work, creating layers in Procreate and then upload it to your social sites. Now imagine what happens when the work you have created is shared without your knowledge and without any way of trying it back to you.

This is a scenario that happened to me several times. That is why I chose to watermark my projects before sharing them online.

Whether you’re making videos, photos, or graphics, protecting your work from being used without credit is super important. One of the easiest and best ways to keep your content safe is by watermarking it. Just place your logo or brand mark in a corner of your image or video, and you’re good to go! Tools like Canva, Apple’s Photos app, and other editing tools make it a breeze to paste your logo on your visuals. Plus, it keeps your ownership and helps your brand shine!Video creators can also use this trick. Add your logo directly to the timeline in video editors like Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve, and adjust the opacity to make it subtle but still visible. Your brand becomes an integral part of your content. Watermarking doesn’t just protect your intellectual property—it helps you build a consistent and recognizable brand across all platforms. In this fast-paced digital world where sharing is the norm, watermarking ensures your work speaks for you even when you’re not around.
