Good morning and welcome to another episode of Writing from the Heart. Today we will be talking about the challenge of balancing our writing. with the rest of our life. Sometimes as writers, we don’t always get the time we want to spend at our writing craft. When I was working on the content for this episode, I started thinking about some of the things that writers deal with in their daily life.
Even if you are a full-time writerter, run your own website and love reaching out to people with your voice and your vision, there’s still plenty of responsibilities throughout the day that you have to take care of besides running your own writing business. For me, it’s caregiving to older family members, taking care of my home and tending to my health with daily fitness routines. If you’re trying to balance a writing career with family responsibilities, you’re not alone.
As authors, we have the unique calling to touch people with our words and make a difference in their lives. But we also must remember to be kind to ourselves so that we don’t burn out. It’s easy to enjoy the light that a light bulb produces, but most people never think about the light bulb burning out until it’s too late and you’re standing in the dark. Today don’t let yourself burn out. Take care of your energy, create a personalized routine that lets you take care of yourself just as well as you take care of the people you are responsible for.
Remember that you are precious and your voice and vision deserve to be protected. Scripture encourages us to let our light shine before people. but in order for us to shine, we must also make sure that we do not burn out. to day, give yourself some extra time to get ready for work. Make your favorite blend of coffee for yourself or a favorite blend of tea. Breathe. Be present with yourself. Focus on how the drink tastes, its warmth as you drink, the way it comforts you. Give yourself understanding. Don’t rush this moment. Don’t rush this moment. Let it breathe and just be. Your body and mind will thank you for the reset.
Until next time, this is John Edward Nickerson saying be at peace and keep showing yourself kindness and compassion. If this episode helped you, I love it if you shared it with some one else who needs this kind of encouragement. Thank you for joining me today.
