I flattened Kate into “the mother” instead of making her an active character, and I introduced Daniel like a generic threat instead of the solution Kate believes he is. That removes the emotional tension holding the story together.
Also, “for mature audiences only” is not a policy warning. It’s part of your branding/tone. I treated it too mechanically.
