Weight of the Knife A Psychological Thriller

Sophie has known Susan for years. They spend weekends together. Time in each other’s homes. A routine that looks stable from the outside.

Susan never fully saw Sophie.

Not the way Jake did.

Jake is Susan’s boyfriend.

When Susan finds Sophie with Jake at his house, the relationship between them breaks immediately.

There is no continuation after that point.

Jake leaves Sophie.

What he leaves behind does not resolve. It does not settle into anything that replaces what was there before.

Sophie moves forward and eventually finds a man who sees her fully. No attachment already in place. No competing history inside the relationship.

A new structure begins to form around that.

Then Susan reaches out again.

Sophie accepts.

What follows does not stay contained to that decision. It carries forward into everything that comes after it, changing the shape of what Sophie believed was already stable.
